Orenco was founded in 1981 in response to widespread failures in Oregon's onsite wastewater systems. GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:

This is an entry level position that exists to develop price quotes for Orenco electrical alarm and controls equipment. Incumbent works with moderate supervision and regularly confers with and advises contractors, engineers, homeowners, and maintenance personnel regarding equipment selection and pricing. Provides quality customer service in all internal and external interactions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & KRA (Key Result Areas):

> Safety/Culture

• Continuously maintains Orenco Management's safety, cultural, and professional standards.
• Promotes, encourages, and reinforces a positive safety culture, safe practices, and a safe work environment to all employees.

> Quote Development

• Determines customer needs and develops product and price quotes for custom panels that are variations of standard panels.
• Obtains price quotes for custom components from suppliers.
• Utilizes technical knowledge and training to ensure that customer orders for electrical products, services, and equipment function in congruence to create the most efficient and cost-effective systems meeting specific customer needs and Orenco quality requirements.
• Coordinates with the Sales Department to ensure orders for custom control panels are entered properly.
• Produces BOM (Bill of Materials) and collects data sheets for parts, when required for submittals.

> Quote Analysis

• Regularly reviews prior quotes for accuracy and recommends changes to improve quoting system.
• Reviews quote capture success.
• Periodically, follows up with customers to determine outcome of quoted projects.

• Attends team meetings and contributes ideas and opinions, continuously seeking improved methods for providing quality customer service.
• Work to be done during manufacturing business hours, which may include an occasional early and/or later shift as needed. Occasional long hours may be required.
• Regular, consistent, and predictable attendance is required.
• Performs other duties as assigned

EDUCATION:

High School diploma or equivalent; additional technical education preferred.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

• Ability to communicate in a professional, courteous, and customer service-oriented manner.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of Orenco Controls products.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of electrical components, general functionality, electrical design rules, motors, and industrial controls.
• Ability to become proficient in quoting VCOM (web-based telemetry) panels.
• Ability to become proficient in quoting electromechanical and MVP (digital logic) panels.
• Ability to write technical instructions.
• Ability to become familiar with NEC (National Electric Code) and UL (Underwriters Laboratory) 508/UL 698a requirements.
• Ability to read and understand customer provided specs and plans.
• Ability to become proficient in the use of quoting tools within FileMaker and ability to follow standard work protocols.
• Ability to read wiring schematics and standard product BOM.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work with moderate supervision.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills required.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Ability to be flexible and adjust to priority changes with little notice and to remain calm during confrontational or high-pressure situations.
• Ability to use sound judgement and follow-through in problem-solving and decision-making processes.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Regular job duties include seeing, speaking, hearing, reading, writing, keyboarding, prolonged periods of sitting including extended time viewing a computer screen. Intermittent physical activity including standing, walking, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, holding, bending, twisting, stooping, squatting, and occasional light lifting of under 20 lbs.
