GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
This is an entry-level position that aids and supports for the Government Relations (GR) team. The Government Relations Representative works to maintain and grow acceptance of Orenco Water products and solutions worldwide. The Government Relations Representative operates within the team and has a diverse project portfolio. The Government Relations Representative regularly interacts with internal Orenco staff as well as with government agency representatives, contractors/installers, designers/engineers, developers, our business partners, and service providers/operators regarding these projects. The Government Relations Representative will provide superior customer service in all internal and external interactions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & KRA (Key Result Areas):
> Safety/Culture
- Continuously maintains Orenco Management's safety, cultural, and professional standards.
- Promotes, encourages, and reinforces a positive safety culture, safe practices, and a safe work environment to all employees.
- Conducts all work in a safe manner and promotes safe work practices to all associates and clients.
> Approvals and Certifications
- Maintains list of new product and technology approvals.
- Provides timely follow-up for approval requests, system performance and regulatory questions.
- Responsible for product approvals, renewals, and reporting.
- Communicates approval and renewal status to sales.
- Responsible for ongoing certification audits.
> Professional Development
- Increases Orenco's reach and builds acceptance of Orenco products and technologies by demonstrating leadership and influence within the regulatory environment.
- Communicates Orenco's vision and approach.
- Establishes relationships with key and influential stakeholders.
- Participates in all meetings and contributes ideas and opinions.
- Identifies areas of improvement.
- Volunteers and participates in team, department, and organizational initiatives.
- Sets and strives to complete annual personal development goals.
> Reporting
- Achieves quarterly and annual performance goals.
- Provides progress updates to the sales team and Government Relations Manager.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams to achieve department goals and report progress to manger.
- Enters and analyzes field performance data and reports results to Government Relations Manager.
- Participates in establishing regulatory objectives for Orenco products.
> Market Development
- Increases Orenco's reach and builds acceptance of Orenco products and technologies by demonstrating leadership and influence within the regulatory environment.
- Critically evaluates and reports regulatory trends, approvals, and other pertinent market information in support of market and product development.
- Represents the company by presenting at tradeshows and conferences.
- Identifies new opportunities to influence or promote regulations that align with sales objectives and the betterment of the industry.
- Conducts research in support of legislative and regulatory initiatives, including analysis of peer reviewed papers and data.
> Becomes familiar with all Orenco related products and technologies.
> Becomes familiar with all international, national, state, and local regulatory rules as assigned.
> Will occasionally perform duties of performance data entry and verification.
> Work to be done during manufacturing business hours, which may include an occasional early and/or later shift as needed. Occasional long hours may be required.
> Regular, consistent, and predictable attendance is required.
> Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree preferred. Associates Degree and/or a combination of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in environmental or scientific studies, or equivalent experience in other industry-related field and demonstrated ability to perform all functions.
- Above average organizational skills are required.
- Ability to communicate in a professional and courteous manner.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Skilled in delivering effective presentations.
- Ability to successfully interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds and extreme variations in educational levels.
- Able and willing to travel. This requirement will fluctuate depending on the region assignments, market maturity, other regional resources, territory size, business needs and other objectives.
- Ability to be flexible and adjust to priority changes with little notice and to remain calm during confrontational or high-pressure situations.
- Ability to use sound judgement and follow-through in problem-solving and decision-making processes.
- Must have satisfactory driving record, maintain valid driver's license, and current insurance on personal vehicle if used for business. Must meet company insurability requirements.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Indoor office environment with occasional time spent outdoors during site visits as required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Seeing, speaking, hearing, reading, writing, keyboarding, prolonged periods of sitting including extended time viewing a computer screen. Intermittent physical activity including standing, walking, climbing stairs, reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, and occasional light lifting of under 20 lbs.
Airplane travel with the ability to visit project sites that are situated on a variety of developed and undeveloped terrain/locations, is required.
Occasional operation of a motor vehicle.
