Infiltrator Water Technologies is a market leader within the onsite wastewater treatment industry, Infiltrator manufactures a variety of revolutionary products and innovative, environmentally friendly alternatives to traditional stone and pipe leachfield and concrete septic wastewater system components. We sell our products through wholesale distribution across the United States and Canada for use on properties with onsite wastewater treatment systems.
GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
This is an advanced level position responsible for interpreting specifications, submittal requests and orders, developing and extending price quotes, utilizing technical knowledge to assist customers in determining product needs and recommending products appropriately. This position requires precision in reviewing specifications and navigating the public bid process. Provides quality communication and serves as a key interface to all internal teams and external customers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and KRA (Key Result Areas):
> Safety/Culture
- Continuously maintains Orenco management's safety, cultural, and professional standards.
- Promotes, encourages, and reinforces a positive safety culture, safe practices, and a safe work environment to all employees.
> Communication
- Communicates with manufacturing engineering and manufacturing departments to ensure correct development of submittal drawings, sales orders, and delivery of product to customers.
- Communicates changes and concerns clearly
- Communicates to customers to describe how products are manufactured, designed, and delivered to customers.
- Communicates technical information to non-technical customers.
- Builds rapport with engineers, contractors, manufacturers' representatives, and purchasing agents.
> Customer Service
- Provides solutions and assists customers in determining needs related to the design and manufacturing of Orenco Composites products.
- Provides product quotes to customers and fulfills customer submittal requests with proper approvals and documentation.
- Evaluates customer specifications, drawings and plans, and provides suggestions and recommendations.
- Accurately processes quotes, orders and specifications, catching discrepancies and ensuring correct lead times, freight needs and documentation are included.
- Supports both fast-track industrial and longer municipal projects.
- Responds promptly to inquiries and time sensitive issues.
- Recognizes when escalation is needed.
- Maintains momentum throughout the sales and order process.
- Identifies potential delays early and communicates to the customer.
- Maintains accurate records in CRM (Customer Relationship Management).
> Marketing
- Performs market research and summarizes findings.
- Participates in market campaigns utilizing social media, email, and cold calling.
> Project Management/Leadership
- Manages project from time of sale to shipment of product including purchase order review, engineer submittal response, manufacturing inspections, and logistics coordination.
- Manages multiple RFQ's (Request for quotation) and projects simultaneously.
- Works closely with outside sales, engineering, and production.
- Helps keep projects on track during staff transitions or absences.
> Regular, consistent, and predictable attendance is required.
> Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
At least a two year degree in a technical course of study or comparable work experience in an engineering environment.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Thorough understanding of Orenco Composites' capabilities and processes. At least three years of experience working in customer service at Orenco in a technical role or five years of experience in a similar position outside of Orenco.
- Two years of experience with public bid workflows and long project timelines.
- Provides professional, courteous customer service to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Ability to be self-directed.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are required.
- Understands basic mechanical/electrical concepts.
- Can read or interpret plans, specs, and submittals and comfortably discuss materials, design, and installation needs with technical and non-technical people.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Adjusts to priority changes with little notice and remains calm during confrontational or high-pressure situations.
- Ability to use sound judgement and follow through in problem solving and decision making processes.
- Must be willing and able to travel up to 10% of the time. Must be able to comply with current travel regulations and guidelines of airlines and destination locations.
- Must be able to meet and maintain Orenco's approved driver criteria; a valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record, current insurance on personal vehicle, and meet company insurability requirements.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Primarily indoor office environment and may include limited time in production areas. Travel requirements may include operation of a motor vehicle, airplane travel, and overnight stays in temporary lodging. May require the ability to visit project sites that are situated on a variety of developed and undeveloped terrain/locations. Includes exposure to outside weather conditions and occasional exposure to dust, other outside elements, and wastewater that may require the proper use of personal protective equipment including but not limited to gloves. Work to be done during manufacturing business hours, which may include an occasional early and/or later shift as needed. Occasional overtime may be required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Regular job duties include seeing, speaking, hearing, reading, writing, legible handwriting, keyboarding, prolonged periods of sitting including extended time viewing a computer screen. Intermittent physical activity includes but is not limited to touching, holding, grasping, pushing, pulling, reaching above shoulders and below knees, low back bending, twisting, turning, kneeling, crawling, stooping, squatting. standing, walking, and climbing stairs and ladders. Unassisted light lifting and/or carrying of under 20 lbs. is required. May also include occasional unassisted lifting and/or carrying of up to 50 lbs., lifting and/or carrying over 50 lbs. must be assisted. Operation of a motor vehicle and/or airplane travel may be required. Travel needs are determined by the department supervisory staff based on business need, required skill base, and assigned job tasks and responsibilities. Travel may require the ability to visit project sites that are situated on a variety of developed and undeveloped terrain/locations.
