Infiltrator Water Technologies is a market leader within the onsite wastewater treatment industry, Infiltrator manufactures a variety of revolutionary products and innovative, environmentally friendly alternatives to traditional stone and pipe leachfield and concrete septic wastewater system components. We sell our products through wholesale distribution across the United States and Canada for use on properties with onsite wastewater treatment systems.
GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
This is an advanced level position that exists to utilize the incumbent's training, experience, and knowledge as a Machinist. This position is responsible for assisting in the engineering, manufacture, and development processes of machinery used to produce the various components and products used in Orenco septic and filtration systems. This position is also responsible for machining and fabrication of Orenco components and products as required.

> Machining
- Reads and interprets blueprints, drawings, and develops sketches to plan the setup and operation of all types of machine shop tools.
- Manufactures, fits, and assembles jigs, fixtures, tools, and dies.
- Establishes the setup, run and testing procedures used to produce products to specifications, tracing die difficulties to their source.
- Manufactures or duplicates, from originals, patterns, molds, components, and products.
- Plans set up and operates typical machine shop tools, considering types of material, tolerances, types of cutting tools, coolants, lubricants, and machine tools feeds and speeds.
- Uses typical machinist hand tools.
- Determines specifications for inspection of work, using a full range of precision measuring and gauging tools, performing required inspection before, during, and after machining.
- Fabricates equipment by cutting, burning, welding, and heat-treating various metals in absence of welder. Repairs equipment by using welding techniques and appropriate welding equipment.
- May be part of a mechanical/construction team on the construction, installation, or repairs to machinery and structures, working with other trades such as millwrights, welders, carpenters, electricians, etc.
- Responsible for overseeing machine shop machinery, safety, and security.
- Trains other team members in the proper use and operation of shop equipment.
> Communications
- Communicates with engineers and product designers, providing input to manufacturing capability on newly formed products and machinery.
- Assists in writing the SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures) for production machine, and/or tooling equipment.
- Monitors work orders on a daily basis. Coordinates work completion among team members.
- Participates in team or department meetings and discussions.
> Work to be done during manufacturing business hours, which may include an occasional early and/or later shift as needed. Occasional overtime may be required.
> Regular, consistent, and predictable attendance is required.
> Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- At least seven years of machine shop experience and the knowledge and skills to operate machine shop tools and various machinist hand tools.
- Completion of the two-hour Emergency Response & HW (HazWopper) Training, and annual follow up training, is required. Training description: Emergency communication, alarms and evacuation routes, contingency plan implementation/emergency response procedures, emergency equipment use. Hazardous waste management – handling and storage rules.
- Basic mathematical skills and the ability to use a calculator.
- Basic verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to use measuring devices and equipment for the inspection of manufactured products and machinery.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Indoor production environment involving some limited exposure to Acetylene and Nitrogen gases, varying quantities of gaseous carbon dioxide, paints, and solvent fumes, diisocyanato, cyclohexanone, methyl methacrylate, and styrene. Exposure levels are below standard limits, and respirators are available. Some exposure to glare generated from welding and cutting torch processes, cuts, and scrapes which require the wearing of PPE (personal protective equipment) such as gloves, safety glasses, face shields, etc.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Regular job duties include seeing, speaking, hearing, reading, writing, keyboarding, time viewing a computer screen, prolonged periods of standing and walking on concrete floors, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, holding, bending, twisting, stooping, squatting, repetitive foot and hand movement with good manual dexterity. Regular job duties require frequent unassisted lifting of up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 70 lbs., lifting over 70 lbs. must be assisted. Occasional operation of a motor vehicle.
