GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:

A Senior Network Engineer is responsible for managing, analyzing, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining, and repairing of network infrastructure and application components. A Senior Network Engineer performs a wide variety of evaluation, maintenance, installation, training, and supervision of tasks to ensure the Orenco network performance meets company and user satisfaction. A Senior Network Engineer also provides lead direction, information, and recommendations regarding all aspects of existing or newly considered cyber security components on or impacting the Orenco network.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & KRA (Key Result Areas):

• Safety/Culture
  • Continuously maintains Orenco Management's safety, cultural, and professional standards.
  • Promotes, encourages, and reinforces a positive safety culture, safe practices, and a safe work environment to all employees.
• Maintains a thorough understanding of Internet Connectivity and its optimization including DNS, Security, IP Routing, HTTP, VPN, Microsoft Cloud/365 connectivity, Email Routing, SPAM filtering, etc.
• Responsible for the continued planning, implementation, and maintenance of Orenco's Advanced Cyber Security configuration.
• Responsible for maintaining the current status of the Orenco Cyber Security Plan and helping to deliver any/all user/customer aspects of the plan.
• Configures/sets up and maintains Firewalls, VPN's, Security appliances and VLANS for secure and efficient access to all enterprise technology resources.
• Responsible to design, setup, and configure complex switching environments.
• Responsible to design, setup and configure complex wireless networking that supports open or secured access and the ability to support voice and video applications.
• Maintains a thorough and current understanding of Local and Wide Area Networking with an emphasis on cyber security combined with user effectiveness.
• Assists in the design of multi-server environments including IP address schemes, DNS, WINS, SAN, fiber channel, iSCSI, etc.
• Configures and installs client and server network software for upgrading and maintaining network and telecommunication systems.
• Maintains multi-site network operations including all indirectly or directly associated hardware, software, operating systems including all regular and necessary maintenance actions.
• Works in association with the Orenco IT (Information Technology) Manager to effectively manage assigned upgrades or expansion projects or program components to deliver services in accordance with established IT department and Orenco Corporate objectives.
• Responds to inquiries from staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel, outside vendors, etc., to provide exemplary technical assistance and support.
• Supervises and/or actions the administration of LAN/WAN systems and servers to ensure reliable and efficient availability of services to authorized users.
• Responsible for troubleshooting malfunctions of network hardware, software applications, telephones, and security systems to resolve operational issues and restore services.
• Maintains accurate and timely record keeping of support tickets in help desk system.
• Maintains time project tracking and project management documentation in Jira and Orenco IT department Run Books and/or internal/external wiki documentation for systems within their responsible technical area.
• Work to be done during manufacturing business hours, which may include an occasional early and/or later shift as needed. Occasional long hours may be required.
• Regular, consistent, and predictable attendance is required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent work experience. Work experience as a Network Engineer may be substituted for education on a 1-to-1 year basis respectively.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum six years of experience in a Network Engineer, Network Security Engineer, Cloud Network Engineer, or similar roles.
• Excellent Technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills required.
• Windows SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager), InTune, or similar MDM/RMM configuration and maintenance experience.
• Windows Server 2012 to Windows 2019 with Hyper-V; Hybrid Exchange and Exchange 365, Hybrid AD/Azure AD and SQL (Structured Query Language) experience.
• Knowledge of VoIP implementation and support.
• Cyber Security Certifications and/or work experience a plus.
• DevOps Certifications and/or work experience a plus.
• SonicWall NSA Series Firewall experience a plus.
• Ability to communicate in an understandable, polite, and friendly manner, both written and verbal.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a small business environment.
• Demonstrated sense of urgency and professionalism in response to needs of the user/customer during downtime or equipment malfunction situations.
• Ability to be flexible and adjust to priority changes with little notice and to remain calm during confrontational or high-pressure situations.
• Ability to use sound judgement and follow-through in problem-solving and decision-making processes.
• Must have satisfactory driving record, maintain valid driver's license, and current insurance on personal vehicle if used for business. Must meet company insurability requirements.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Office environment with limited exposure to outside elements, dust, and fumes during time spent in manufacturing areas.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Regular job duties include seeing, speaking, hearing, reading, writing, keyboarding, finger dexterity, periods of sitting, and visual acuity including extended time viewing a computer screen. Intermittent physical activity including standing, walking, kneeling, crawling, climbing stairs and ladders, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, holding, bending, twisting, stooping, squatting, and occasional light lifting of under 20 lbs., frequent unassisted lifting of 20 to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 70 lbs. Lifting over 71 lbs. must be assisted. Occasional operation of a motor vehicle.
