GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
This is an advanced level position responsible for assisting external stakeholders, such as commercial dealers, with receiving and interpreting orders for Orenco products and services, dealing with day-to-day business activities, developing and extending price quotes, providing technical assistance and troubleshooting, utilizing technical knowledge and training to assist customers in determining individual needs, recommending products appropriately, advising customers regarding equipment installation, usage, repair, and maintenance, provide quality customer service in all internal and external interactions. Creates custom project O&M (Operations and Maintenance) manuals, submittal packages, certificates of origins and assists the systems engineers with basic design review letters. This position will interact regularly with our business partners as well as occasionally with designers/engineers and other consultants and professionals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & KRA (Key Result Areas):
> Safety/Culture
- Continuously maintains Orenco management's safety, cultural, and professional standards.
- Promotes, encourages, and reinforces a positive safety culture, safe practices, and a safe work environment to all employees.
- Conducts all work in a safe manner and promotes safe work practices to all associates and clients.
> Customer Service Support
- Manages quotes and orders for dealers and customers.
- Communicates regularly with Orenco manufacturing teams, and other related departments, to ensure correct development of specialty orders, accuracy of standard orders, and quality customer service.
- Creates and manages engineered systems (i.e. STEP/STEG) packages, quotes and certificates of origins.
- Creates project O&M manuals and submittal packages.
> Sales Support
- Update CRM (Customer Relationship Management) records from sales calls, conferences, etc.
- Complete basic research on sales leads and inquiries.
> Systems Engineering Support
- Handling initial customer inquiries, including but not limited to new designs, and installation & maintenance of Orenco equipment.
- Confers with Orenco engineering staff concerning product and system development and design, materials take offs, troubleshooting inquiries, and other technical information needed to meet the individualized needs of the customer.
- Assists the Systems Engineering team with design review letters.
- Attends team meetings and contributes ideas and opinions, continuously seeking improved methods by focusing on maximum efficiency of the sales process and quality customer service.
- Assists dealers with custom product applications and quotes.
- Computes, verifies, and extends dealer price quotes, discounts, and estimates for system designs and related products, services, and equipment.
- Receives system design drawings and plans from SET (Systems Engineering Team) to critically discuss together and provide suggestions and recommendations as needed to customer or business partner.
- Communicates dealer needs back to the regional team.
- Attends & assists with site visits for troubleshooting and data collection.
> Leading
- Demonstrates leadership within the sales department and within the organization daily.
- Volunteers and participates in team, department, and organizational initiatives.
- Sets and strives to complete annual personal development goals.
> Planning
- Participates in the development and completion of the quarterly and annual territory plans aligned with territory, regional, and/or company plans.
> Reporting
- Thoroughly documents all tasks and customer interactions in CRM.
- Inputs, updates, and ensures accuracy of customer contact information in CRM.
- Submits and distributes timely activity and trip reports.
> Has in-depth knowledge of all Orenco-related products and technologies.
> Will occasionally perform additional duties of systems engineering team, the regional sales team, asset management and customer service team.
> Work to be done during manufacturing business hours, which may include an occasional early and/or later shift as needed. Occasional long hours may be required.
> Regular, consistent, and predictable attendance is required.
> Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
An AS degree or equivalent is required.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of two years technical sales experience, or equivalent education and pertinent Orenco experience.
- Ability to gain a thorough understanding of Orenco equipment and processes.
- Ability to gain a thorough understanding of Orenco distribution.
- Ability to gain a thorough understanding of Orenco Engineered Systems (i.e. AdvanTex) Program requirements.
- Intermediate knowledge of wastewater chemistry and treatment processes.
- Must be willing and able to travel an average of 10% of the time. Includes meeting current travel requirements with airlines as well as in final destinations.
- Ability to communicate in a professional, courteous, and customer service-oriented manner.
- Ability to successfully interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds and extreme variations in educational levels.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills are required.
- Above average mathematics and algebra skills are required. College level algebra skills are preferred.
- Data entry (basic keyboarding) skills are required.
- Excellent organizational skills are required.
- Intermediate knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing software.
- Ability to be flexible and adjust to priority changes with little notice and to remain calm during confrontational or high-pressure situations.
- Ability to use sound judgement and follow-through in problem-solving and decision-making processes.
- Must have satisfactory driving record, maintain valid driver's license, and current insurance on personal vehicle if used for business. Must meet company insurability requirements.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Primarily office environment. Travel requirements may include operation of a motor vehicle, airplane travel, and overnight stays in temporary lodging. Requires the ability to visit project sites that are situated on a variety of developed and undeveloped terrain/locations. Includes exposure to outside weather conditions when at customer sites. Conducting field work may include occasional exposure to wastewater, requiring proper use of personal protective equipment including but not limited to gloves.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Regular job duties include seeing, speaking, hearing, reading, writing, keyboarding, prolonged periods of sitting including extended time viewing a computer screen. Intermittent physical activity including standing, walking, climbing stairs and/or ladders, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, holding, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, driving, and occasional light lifting of under 20 lbs. May also include occasional unassisted lifting of up to 50 lbs., occasionally up to 70 lbs. Lifting over 70 lbs. must be assisted. Operation of a motor vehicle and airplane travel with the ability to visit project sites that are situated on a variety of developed and undeveloped terrain/locations, is and/or may be required.
